I do know that the Japanese are going to be killing fewer whales this year due to whale meat becoming less fashionable and because of intense international anger at whaling in general. I think that as each year goes by whaling will become outdated and a shameful practice (I mean it is shameful but obviously the Japanese don't yet see it that way, it's own people need to voice the protest).
