Protesters arrested in Sydney for annoyances.

Members of PETA have been arrested in Sydney under the new ‘anti-annoyance-of-pilgrams’ laws. Granted they were half naked, but its still a huge injustice towards civil liberties.

Bare-breasted arrested.

Big Brother Axed!

Channel 10 has confirmed the axing of Big Brother after a dwindling viewer count this season. I personally was a big fan of Big Brother until this season (I even watched evictions online when travelling in the UK and France) but this year when it was hosted by Kyle & Jackie O, it started dying for me. The final nail in the coffin was when one of the house mates was Corey Delaney (Wikipedia wont even have a page on this guyhis page redirects to the BB2008 page) and a guest house mate was Pamela Anderson. God help me, I have never seen a greater example of ‘scraping the barrel’.

There is speculation of a series return in 2010, but I’m not holding my breath. Even if it does come back, unless they get Gretel back, it’ll be shit.

Big Brother dumps Gretel Killeen.

An average Australian? Not bloody likely.

In a story published today by the Sydney Morning Herald, they talk about an Australian bloke living in Africa and his contributions to the global society as a whole. He owns wikileaks, which, until now, was unheard of by myself. It is a site that allows confidential contributions by whistleblowers all over the world. There have been amazing documents submitted to the site, including many US military documents.

The truth is out there, no matter how covered up it may be.

Nice work Julian, you are now in my list of heroes.

The Aussie who’s changing the world of whistleblowers.

Further regulations for WYD

All protesters must have their T-Shirts, banners, placards, everything pre-approved by police or risk being arrested.

Apparently freedom of speech has a price.

Pope demos need our blessing, say police.

Redbubble have a thread for t-shirt designs about these rules.

Here is my fave so far;

New police powers see them able to fine ‘annoying’ people.

Extreme dictator-like powers have been given to NSW police and other World Youth Day volunteers that see them able to fine people $5500 for wearing a T-Shirt that may annoy patrons of WYD services.

I wonder, if I am driving to a WYD service and some Shmo doesn’t indicate to change lanes in front of me (rendering me 100% annoyed) can I perform a citizens fining of said shitty driver? Or should I just call the cops?

Bleugh, bugger the fines. This gives me more reason to get out there and protest this nazism.

Thou shalt not annoy on Youth Day
